Tashi Namgyal  grew up in Manali ,
India. He visited his relatives in Amdo,
Tibet for a few years before moving to
Bir and marrying  Cheme Choden.  He
guides travel adventures through the
Himalaya's and  runs Buckstars coffee

We built this sidewalk
in front of the
bungalow housing in
the Derge section of
Bir. Moonsoon water
runs through here as
well as the cows from
the neighboring cow
barn. The children
living in the bunglows
used to play in the
combination mud/ cow
poo. It is much nicer
now and the residents
keep the area really
clean.
Cheme Choden was born in Bir and
spent her youth helping her mother raise
her  younger brothers and sisters. Her
father was a Tibetan Freedom fighter and
she is 100% Kampa. Cheme is Tenpas
mother.
